According to Kyodo News, on October 8th local time, during the questioning by representatives of various parties in the Japanese House of Representatives, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Akamine expressed a negative opinion when asked whether the name of artificial intelligence (AI) should be changed to 'Super Intelligence' (SI). She stated that 'it should still be called AI at this stage.'
And U.S. President Donald Trump is committed to promoting the use of "SI" (Super Intelligence) to replace "AI".
According to reports, on that day, Gao emphasized that 'either in government documents or academic papers, the term 'AI' has become mainstream. It is difficult to completely replace it immediately.'
She also stated that she will keep an eye on the developments in the international community and governments around the world.
The aforementioned remarks were her response to a questioning of Yuji Ichiro, the leader of the Japanese Democratic Party.
It is reported that Trump signed an executive order in September, requiring U.S. government agencies to use the name “SI”.
On October 8th, local time, Trump posted on his social media platform 'Real Socity' saying: "The White House considers anyone who uses the term 'Artificial Intelligence' instead of the widely accepted and more accurate term 'Super Intelligence' as an enemy!" Trump even capitalized every word in the phrase 'THEENEMY'.
