Elon Musk Jokingly Wishes to Meet AI-Generated Chinese Lookalike

On October 10 local time, at the "X Takeover" event hosted by the Tesla car owners' club in Silicon Valley, Musk responded to the video of the popular online figure "Chinese version of Musk" ("Ma Yilong").

The host mentioned that she had shared a video of Elon Musk's Chinese version a few days ago.

Musk himself responded saying: "I actually hope that person is real."

The host reminded that the videos filmed by 'Ma Yilong' appeared long before AI technology reached its current level.

Musk said, "I guess he's probably not a real person. But there must be people in China who look like me, right? After all, China has a population of 1.4 billion. You think, pick someone who looks closest to me, and I have some Asian features. So I think there must be people in China who look very much like me."

In a population of 14 billion people, the probability that such a person would appear is very high," he said. "I still want to find an opportunity to invite this person and appear on stage with me; the scene should be quite interesting."

Since 2021, "Ma Yilong" has become popular both at home and abroad because his appearance in the videos he posted resembles that of Elon Musk. Due to the high similarity, many netizens even questioned whether he used deepfake technology to alter his face.
