According to Reuters, since U.S. President Trump announced a ‘energy ceasefire’, Russia chose to refrain from attacking Ukrainian energy targets for the first time on October 13. However, at night, it launched ballistic missiles and drones against transportation and logistics facilities in several Ukrainian cities.
The Russian Ministry of Defense did not mention Ukrainian energy facilities in its daily briefing. When asked about the “energy ceasefire,” a Kremlin spokesman only said that contact was still ongoing, but refused to provide further details.
However, one of the missiles landed just over a kilometer away from a heating plant in the western city of Volgograd.
Reports indicate that it is still unclear whether Russia intends to avoid targeting the Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
