According to Bloomberg's report on October 12, Polish Foreign Minister Szyckler said during an interview at the Warsaw Security Forum that U.S. President Donald Trump should pressure Russia rather than Ukraine to end the Russo-Ukrainian conflict. Additionally, Szyckler also defended Europe's support for Ukraine and its efforts to impose additional sanctions on Russia.
"We appreciate President Trump's efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, but Poland believes that only pressuring "aggressors," not "victims", can achieve results."

Last weekend, Trump called on Ukraine to stop launching air strikes on Russian refineries.
In order to lower energy prices before the mid-term elections on November 3rd, Trump relaxed some sanctions against Russia after Russian President Putin agreed to release more diesel into the global market.
However, on the 12th, the EU increased pressure on Russia by agreeing to introduce a new round of sanctions against Russia, including adding over 1,600 individuals and entities to the sanctions list.
Sikorsky believes that this is a “correct response” to the Russian side, and described this round of sanctions as “the most severe to date”.
Trump's agreement with Russia has drawn criticism from Zelensky, who called it "weak." This in turn has led Trump to imply that Ukrainian leaders should consider stepping down. This dispute reminds us of the face-to-face confrontation between the two at the White House Oval Office in February 2025, which resulted in a temporary suspension of intelligence sharing between the United States and Ukraine.
Regarding the concern of losing control during disputes, he said that these two leaders, whom he refers to as "world-class figures," will reconcile their differences just as they did before.
