On October 19, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he believed someone other than Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should represent Ukraine in negotiations aimed at ending the Russo-Ukrainian conflict.
"Maybe Zelensky is the time to find someone else to negotiate." Trump said. He had called for Ukraine to replace its president on October 10th.
Trump also told reporters on the 19th that Russia has been "performing well" on the Ukraine issue. "They haven't done much."
He added that the United States continues to share intelligence with Ukraine, and stated that he would consider allowing Ukrainians to remain in the United States under ‘temporary protection status’ until the war ends.
Previously, Zelenskyy criticized Ukraine’s allies for failing to provide early warnings in the event of Russian nighttime ballistic missile attacks. US Secretary of State Pompeo told reporters on the 19th that intelligence sharing “has not been suspended”.
I do not know where he obtained these messages, and I don't know why he is speaking to the media about them. He should focus on what we hope will be focused on—ending this conflict." Rubio said.
On October 18th, Zelenskyy stated that the United States has resumed sharing intelligence with Kiev.
