Jordan Bardella Re-elected as Head of Frances Far-Right Party

According to Euronews, on October 24 local time, Jordan Bardella was re-elected as the chairman of France’s far-right political party, National Rally, with a vote rate of 98.98%. He was elected unopposed.

Yoann Gillet, a member of the National Union responsible for supervising this election, stated that Bardela received 75,497 votes and had 779 blank votes. The internal party members' voter turnout was nearly 68%, with electronic voting taking place between September 21st and October 22nd.

According to reports, the National Front is seeking to further solidify its position before the 2027 French presidential elections. With the internal leadership of the party settled, all attention has turned to Marine Le Pen, the former president of the National Front.

Before the official election results were announced, Balderra thanked the party activists and called on them to fully support Le Pen's presidential ambitions. "I once again need your help to get Marina Le Pen into the Elysee Palace," he said to his supporters.

According to reports, Balthazar’s re-election further clarifies the division of responsibilities between the two core figures of the National Alliance—Le Pen and Balthazar have positioned themselves as the ‘winning combination’ for the 2027 elections.

According to this strategy, Le Pen will run for the presidential position, and if the party can gain a majority of seats in the parliamentary elections, Baleda is expected to become prime minister.

On October 25th local time, Le Pen plans to give a speech to thousands of supporters. During that speech, she is expected to outline the next stage of her presidential campaign planning.

According to people close to Le Pen, this will be a 'high-quality' speech themed around 'rebirth'. The National Coalition has already begun highlighting its priorities on economic and social issues before the election.

The 31-year-old Bardella was born and raised in an Italian-speaking poor family in the suburbs of Paris. As a teenager, he joined a far-right political party and quickly rose to become a key figure within the party, becoming a political star.

AFP once noted that Balderra is considered politically loyal to Le Pen, and has been described as Le Pen's 'protege'.

National Union, formerly known as the "National Front" (Front national, FN) in June 2018, is a far-right populist political party in France. It was established by Jean-Marie Le Pen, the father of Marine Le Pen, in 1972.

Baldé took on the position of party leader in 2022, marking the first time in the party's history that the party leader was not appointed by Le Pen.
