Xi Jinping Condoles Death of Former Japanese Prime Minister Fukuda Yasuhiro

On October 27, President Xi Jinping sent a condolence message to the survivors of former Japanese Prime Minister Fukuda Yasuhiro. He expressed his grief over Fukuda Yasuhiro's passing and offered his sympathy to his survivors.

Xi Jinping pointed out that Mr. Fukuda is a Japanese statesman who has integrity and responsibility. He is also an old friend of the Chinese people. Throughout his tenure, he has always been concerned about Sino-Japanese friendship and adheres to a correct view of history. During his tenure, he signed the fourth political document between China and Japan, setting important principles for the development of bilateral relations. Mr. Fukuda served as the President of the Boao Asia Forum, playing an important role in promoting exchanges and cooperation in Asia. The Chinese side will remember Mr. Fukuda’s contributions to Sino-Japanese relations and Asia’s development. We look forward to the survivors carrying on Mr. Fukuda’s legacy and continuing to work towards Sino-Japanese friendship. It is hoped that Japanese leaders will appreciate the efforts of the older generation of politicians, abide by the four political documents between China and Japan, and truly maintain the political foundation of bilateral relations.
