According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, on June 15, a ceremony was held to launch the Central Sewage Treatment Plant in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, along with Uyilstugred, Director of the Presidential Office of Mongolia, and Foreign Minister Batsetseg, attended the event.
Wang Yi stated that during President Xi Jinping's state visit to Mongolia in 2014, he announced support for Mongolia's economic development, laying the foundation for the construction of a central sewage treatment plant. This project, aimed at improving people's livelihoods and fostering friendship between the two countries, carries the expectations of their leaders and the hopes of their peoples. From the initial planning to the actual completion of the project, it has become another important symbol of mutual support between China and Mongolia.
Wang Yi said, "We hope for good relations between neighbors. China has always supported Mongolia in its economic development and improvement of people's livelihoods." Since the 1950s, Chinese workers have come to Mongolia to assist in the construction of over 850 projects. Since the new century, from cross-border highways to port clearance, from slum renovation to urban infrastructure development, from medical and educational services to desertification prevention, both sides have always focused on improving people's well-being, ensuring that cooperation benefits the people of Mongolia. China-Mongolia relations are becoming a model for friendly coexistence and common development and prosperity among neighboring countries. China will continue to uphold the principle of friendly, sincere, and inclusive diplomacy in its relations with neighboring countries, as well as policies that promote peaceful and prosperous relations with friendly neighbors. We will continue our traditional friendship with Mongolia and write new chapters of cooperation, creating a brighter future for the people of both countries and adding new dimensions to China-Mongolia relations.
Uyilustugerd, on behalf of the President of Mongolia, stated that the Ulan Bator wastewater treatment project is an important achievement of Mongolian-China cooperation and a concrete manifestation of friendly relations between the two countries. It brings tangible benefits to the Mongolian people. He expressed gratitude for the support provided by China for Mongolia's economic and social development, and wished for greater development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Ulan Bator Central Sewage Treatment Plant is a key cooperation project between China and Mongolia. It was built by Chinese enterprises using Chinese standards and techniques. This is the largest and most advanced sewage treatment facility in Mongolia, which will greatly improve the local water quality and enhance the quality of life for the people.
