Trump Endorses Musk as Potential CNN Owner

According to a report by Benny Johnson, a renowned conservative media figure in the United States, U.S. President Donald Trump stated in an interview on October 30 that he would be pleased if Elon Musk took control of CNN.

Recently, Musk invested $1 billion in Skydance, the owner of CNN. Johnson asked whether he would be willing to let Musk take control of CNN. Trump responded, "I like the idea; it’s definitely better than it is now. He’s a good person, and he does a great job."

Johnson also joked on X platform, "Can you imagine how many anchors would break down and resign if Elon took over CNN as their new boss?"

Trump Endorses Musk as Potential CNN Owner

Trump has a tense relationship with many mainstream American media outlets, including CNN. In September of this year, Trump announced that CNN, MS NEWS channel, and The Politico were banned from entering the White House due to "continuous reporting of fake news," and the ban took effect immediately.

A few days later, some judges believed that the “no-entry order” was likely unconstitutional, and the White House also chose to enforce the court’s orders and restore the relevant journalists’ credentials.

CNN's parent company is Warner Bros. Discovery. Earlier this month, Paramount Skywalker completed a $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, and the merged entity was named Skywalker.

Trump expressed his approval of the merger, saying, “This will be a great company.”

According to Reuters, Elon Musk has a long relationship with Larry Ellison, co-founder of Oracle. Ellison's son, David Ellison, leads Skywalker. Currently, Musk is working to rebuild his relationship with Trump.
