Iran Closures Hormuz Strait Due to US & Israeli Violations

According to the official 'Telegram' channel of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran, on June 20 local time, the Central Headquarters of the Houtham Anbia branch of the Iranian armed forces announced that the Hormuz Strait has been closed.

The statement indicates that, in view of the United States' blatant violation of its commitments and failure to fulfill the provisions of Article 1 of the memorandum of understanding, coupled with Israel's continuous violations of the ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon, resulting in the brutal killing of civilians and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people, and the refusal of the Israeli military to withdraw from southern Lebanon, it is hereby announced that the Hormuz Strait will be closed to all vessels.

The statement adds: "It is noteworthy that this is only the first response to the enemy's breach of promises. If the enemy continues its aggressive actions, we will plan and take subsequent steps to force the enemy to fulfill its promises."

According to the text of the Memorandum of Understanding disclosed by Iran and the United States previously, Article 1 of the Memorandum states that the United States, Iran, and their allies in the current conflict sign this Memorandum of Understanding, declaring an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including those in Lebanon. They pledge not to wage war or engage in military actions against each other in the future, not to use force or threaten with force, and to ensure the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon. The final agreement will confirm the permanent end of wars on all fronts, including those in Lebanon, as well as other provisions contained in this article.
