According to the British newspaper The Guardian, on July 31, Russia recently launched ballistic missiles that destroyed a drone factory in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. The factory belonged to a company registered in Delaware, USA. The report states that this appears to be the first time since the Russo-Ukrainian conflict that Russia has targeted a U.S.-owned defense enterprise.
The drone factory destroyed by the Russian army belonged to a US company called Terminal Autonomy. The company was registered in Delaware, USA in 2023 and primarily produces drones for precise “deep strikes”. As of now, neither the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense nor Terminal Autonomy has responded to this information.
On July 26, Russian TASS reported that the Russian military attacked a drone manufacturer in Kiev early that morning, but did not specify which country it belonged to. It only mentioned that "experts from Ukrainian-American companies" were working there.
Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukrainian weapons production facilities. Oleksandr Koleyevsky, a member of the Defense Committee of the Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament), said that the Russian military is currently carrying out large-scale, targeted, and planned strikes against the Ukrainian arms supply chain, with the aim of destroying Ukraine's weapon production capabilities. And this is only the "start."
