According to the Russian newspaper Vedomosti on September 20th, in the first eight months of this year, Russia imported 75,000 used passenger vehicles from China, which is nearly twice the amount in the same period of 2025, representing a surge of 98%.
Russian Automotive Statistics Bureau Director Sergei Tserikov reported this data on the social media platform Telegram.
He pointed out that last year, Russia imported 38,000 cars from China.
According to Chalykov, in the Russian used car market, the most popular model is the Volkswagen Tayron, with a sales volume of 5,926 units. The second-ranked model is the Toyota Corolla, with 5,096 units sold. Following closely behind are two Audi models—the Q3, with 4,088 units, and the A3, with 3,907 units. The Volkswagen Golf ranks fifth, with a sales volume of 2,809 units.
