Vucics Mother Targeted in Physical and Verbal Attacks During Belgrade Market Visit

According to Russia Today, the Serbian Progressive Party reported that on October 25th, Angelina Vucic, the mother of former Serbian President Vucic, was subjected to violent physical and verbal attacks by Vucic's political opponents near a market in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.

It is reported that a group of young people pushed Angelina Vucic forcefully, shouted at her, and tore open the shopping bags she had brought from the market.

Serbia Progressive Party said, "Such actions are unacceptable violations, humiliations, and threats that deserve the most severe condemnation. No one's mother, grandmother, or any woman should be targeted by violence due to political differences."

The Serbian Progressive Party stated that it demands the relevant authorities to take urgent and decisive measures to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the situation and hold all participants accountable.

"We expect all political forces to condemn this act clearly, without seeking excuses, political calculations, or double standards. Serbia must never allow itself to become a country where violence and hatred replace dialogue and political negotiations." wrote the Serbian Progressive Party.

According to information from the Serbian Yugoslav News Agency (Tanjug) on October 25th, a man suspected of attacking Angelina Vukic was detained in Belgrade.

It is reported that the suspect will be brought to the prosecutor’s office for interrogation on time. The prosecutor’s office stated that his actions are considered crimes related to robbery.

On October 25th, Serbia held pre-election parliamentary elections. On that day, Vucic admitted that the electoral coalition led by the Serbian Progressive Party lost the election.
