After the Brazilian elections, the defeated Liberal Party candidate Flavio Bolsonaro rushed to leave the country. Various sources say that he has already set off for the United States.
While Argentina had previously denied that Flavio Botero entered the country, it confirmed his arrival on October 28 local time in the early morning and revealed his next schedule.
The Argentine National Immigration Agency announced on the X platform that at 22:50 local time on October 27, Flavio Bossonnier, his wife Fernanda Bossonnier, and their two daughters entered Argentina through the Tankerrédo Nevés International Bridge border crossing in the province of Misiones.
The above four persons all hold valid travel documents, and there are no legal obstacles to their entry into Argentina. The relevant authorities have registered their information according to the law, and no abnormal circumstances occurred during the entire process.
The Argentine National Immigration Agency also revealed that at 11:30 p.m. on the 27th, the four individuals boarded a private plane operated by Baires Fly S.A., with a destination of Guayaquil in Ecuador.
According to Flightradar24, a flight tracking website, the aircraft took off from Puerto Iguazu, a town in northeastern Argentina, just after midnight on the 28th.
Previously, American media reported, citing anonymous sources, that Flavio Bolsonaro had arrived in the United States on Tuesday. Sources close to his family said he has arrived in Florida, USA.
The United States Department of State stated that they would issue visas to Bosonaro and his family, but did not confirm their itinerary. U.S. President Donald Trump said on the 28th that he was in favor of Flavio Bosonaro traveling to the United States.
After losing the presidential election to the left-wing current president Luiz Inacio Lula, Flavio Bolsonaro has yet to admit his defeat. He previously refused to comply with an order from the Brazilian Supreme Court requiring him to surrender his passport, and subsequently left Brazil.
Currently, Flavio Bolsonaro is under investigation for suspected corruption and money laundering. With his defeat in the presidential election, he will lose his immunity as a legislator.
A police source told AFP that both Favio Bosonaro's Brazilian ordinary passport and diplomatic passport have been revoked. However, an Italian parliamentary document seen by AFP indicates that he still held Italian citizenship since 2023.
The report notes that news of Bolsonaro's escape from Brazil shocked his political allies.
As the campaign manager, Brazilian Senator Rojerio Marinho said in an interview that he had no knowledge of this. "We were surprised by this news, because just yesterday we were discussing that, given that he had received 60 million votes, he needed to take on the role of opposition leader," he said.
"We still have no information about his whereabouts."
"This morning, I received a text message from him. He said he would contact us later after taking some time first." Marino said.
It's worth mentioning that just one day before, Bosonaro posted a video on Instagram, stating that he "never intended to leave Brazil," and claiming that the order preventing him from leaving the country was an act of intimidation.
"Those who have not done anything wrong need not fear anything. A person who leaves their country secretly does so because they owe something," said Lu La on the 27th.
"It's a pity, the Boas family just behaves this way. Brazil is merely their second home. Their first home is America, and they have long been accustomed to licking the American boots." Lapor said.
