UK Commits £10 Billion in New Aid to Ukraine

According to the British newspaper The Independent, on October 28, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy communicated with British Prime Minister Barnett, and Britain promised to provide Ukraine with an additional £10 billion in aid.

British Chancellor of the Exchequer John Sunting stated that the funds include economic and military assistance. Before the announcement of the aid plan, he and Bernam had communicated with Zelenskyy, who told them, "You've made me feel very good today."

According to reports, a spokesman for Downing Street stated in a statement that these 10 billion pounds include a three-year economic aid of 7 billion pounds, and the 3 billion pounds are allocated through the UK Export Support Scheme, mainly for the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

Spokesperson added that an additional 5 billion British Pounds will be used to fill gaps in Ukraine's air defense system.

Bernadotte stated that this is the largest ever package of financial assistance committed by the UK to Ukraine in its history.

Zelenskyy said that this additional aid is aimed at further enhancing Ukraine’s economic and defense capabilities. He emphasized that this £10 billion is an additional contribution, and does not include the regular aid provided by the UK to Ukraine each year.
