SpaceX Board Member Harrison Steps Down After Decades of Service

SpaceX board member Harrison (Donald Harrison) stepped down from his board position after over a decade in the role. Meanwhile, an independent board committee is evaluating the possibility of SpaceX and Tesla merging.

According to documents released by SpaceX on Friday (the 6th), Harrison announced his intention to resign to the company on November 4th, the day after the US midterm elections. SpaceX stated that Harrison's decision was not due to any disagreements with the company.

Harrison joined the board of directors in 2015, at a time when Google was investing in SpaceX, a company owned by Musk that specializes in rockets, satellites, and artificial intelligence. Currently, Harrison still works for Google's parent company, Alphabet Inc., where she leads the company's corporate partnerships and business development team.

Alphabet remains one of SpaceX's main supporters, being the second-largest shareholder after Elon Musk. Due to the decline in SpaceX's stock price last quarter, this investment has affected Alphabet's financial results announced last week.
